Lasting Trends you’ll love

The 2019 home décor trends, according to the home styling magazines, are moving towards natural elements, velvet furnishings and fresh floral and botanical patterns.

The designers and decorators have predicted copper colours, brass and concrete accents together with Millennial Pink. To personalise your home, they suggest placing “artisan features to shift your home’s focus from the tech world of 2018 to the natural world”.

Why not use our made to order service: send an email to Sara at sara@thingsvintage.com to discuss your unique plant pot ideas/colours.

Here’s some of our designer’s items available at Things Vintage on how to add some of these, cost-effective, elements to your home.

Lovingly Co-ordinated

My conservatory needs some loving care! A Spring clean and style shake-up is necessary as it looks like I still have the remnants of Christmas in the corner.  Therefore, I’m going to treat myself by creating a co-ordinated look in what has become an empty area with just a small table.

To co-ordinate with the cushions I bought last year, I’ll choose a selection of plant pots plus matching boxes to hide the “bits and bobs” that seem to accumulate in my home. I really love the distinctive appearance of the decoupaged pots with green leaves.

This is the collection I’ve chosen –brilliant additions to any indoor space.

Lovely Plants for Pots in February

February is considered the cold ending of winter, but springtime is actually just a few weeks away. The garden centres have plenty of flowers, fruits and vegetables to sow and grow this month.

Here is my favourite – Lettuce. Surprisingly easy to grow from seed it doesn’t take up much space, making it an excellent choice for a sunny window sill.

Another item that took my eye in a gardening magazine was a potted dwarf lemon tree bought from a garden centre. The professional nurseries use a grafting process that keeps potted lemons small enough to grow inside.  A dwarf lemon tree will make a lovely houseplant adding both interest and style.
